Alexandra Hayes - Managing Partner

Alexandra Hayes

Managing Partner and Co-Founder

Alexandra co-founded Sway for Future after a decade building and scaling climate technology companies, including a successful exit in 2019. She has backed over 40 seed-stage companies and serves on the boards of TerraBlue, ClearFlow, and CircleEcon. A graduate of Stanford GSB and MIT, she is a frequent speaker at SOSV, Greentown Labs, and the Global Impact Investing Network annual conference.

Marcus Weston - General Partner

Marcus Weston

General Partner, Technology

Marcus co-founded Sway for Future with Alexandra after a 12-year career in enterprise software, including senior roles at Salesforce and two founding experiences of his own. He leads our technology diligence practice and sits on the boards of EduPath, ClimateAI, and NovaMobility. Marcus holds an MS in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Wharton. He is a strong advocate for technical founders building in overlooked geographies.

Priya Kapoor - Partner Impact ESG

Priya Kapoor

Partner, Impact and ESG

Priya joined Sway for Future in 2024 from McKinsey's Sustainability Practice, where she spent eight years advising Fortune 500 companies on net-zero strategy, ESG reporting, and impact measurement frameworks. She leads our portfolio impact measurement program, chairs our LP ESG reporting process, and serves on the boards of AgriSense and SolarGrid. Priya holds a Masters in Environmental Management from Yale School of the Environment and a BA in Economics from Princeton.

David Okonkwo - Principal

David Okonkwo

Principal, Portfolio Development

David joined Sway for Future from the World Bank's International Finance Corporation, where he focused on impact investing in emerging markets. He leads our portfolio support programs, managing everything from follow-on fundraising preparation to strategic partnership development for our companies. David also leads our deal flow in Africa and Southeast Asia. He holds a Masters in Development Economics from Oxford and a BA from Georgetown.

Sarah Lindqvist - Associate

Sarah Lindqvist

Associate, Deal Flow

Sarah joined Sway for Future in 2023 after a role in the cleantech division of Breakthrough Energy Ventures. She manages our inbound deal flow, conducts initial market and technical diligence, and supports portfolio companies on impact reporting. A passionate advocate for diversity in venture capital, Sarah co-leads our annual Women in Deep Tech fellowship program. She holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from UC Berkeley and an MBA from MIT Sloan.

James Calloway - CFO

James Calloway

CFO and Head of Operations

James oversees all financial, legal, and operational aspects of Sway for Future's fund management activities. He brings 18 years of experience in venture fund administration and LP relations, including senior roles at Battery Ventures and Andreessen Horowitz. James manages fund accounting, LP reporting, treasury operations, and the firm's legal relationships. He holds a BS in Accounting from the University of Michigan and is a licensed CPA in California.

Elena Torres - Analyst

Elena Torres

Analyst, Impact Research

Elena joined Sway for Future in 2024 as our first dedicated impact research analyst. She is responsible for developing and maintaining our proprietary impact measurement framework, conducting sector-level research, and supporting the preparation of our annual impact report. Before joining SFF, Elena worked at the Skoll Foundation on program assessment and impact evaluation. She holds a BA in Environmental Studies and Statistics from Northwestern University.

Climate Science Advisor

Former director of the National Center for Atmospheric Research. Advisor on climate technology diligence and portfolio impact measurement. Lead author on three IPCC Working Group reports. Currently Professor of Earth Systems Science at Stanford.

Robert Nkemdirim

Global Health Advisor

Former Deputy Director at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation's Global Health Program. Advisor on health equity investments and global health system partnerships. Has led health initiatives serving over 500 million people across Sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.

Dr. Yuki Nakamura

Technology Advisor

Co-founder of three AI companies with exits totaling over $1.2B. Advisor on AI and machine learning diligence. Currently a Research Scientist at Google DeepMind focused on AI applications for scientific discovery. Former Professor of Computer Science at the University of Tokyo.

Commissioner Ana Beltran

Policy and Regulatory Advisor

Former Commissioner at the California Public Utilities Commission. Advisor on regulatory strategy and government affairs for our energy and infrastructure portfolio. Has shaped energy policy affecting over 40 million Californians. Currently Senior Fellow at the Rocky Mountain Institute.
